More tidbits against depression

I thought it's about time I shared a couple of strategies I've found lately that have really helped me stay out of the blues. It came to me through the back door this time or I may not have noticed it. I'm sure you've all heard about the attitude of gratitude. Well, when I get the blues and some one says gratitude, I wanna gag. How can you be grateful when you are deeply depressed?!?! Well, God is great because gratitude snuck up on me this time and ever since I've been writing 10 things I'm grateful for most every day. The story: I have a thing for quotes and I hang a Kimbalie's Kwotes poster with a few quotes on the front of my desk. My Commissioner is a fan so I strive to find interesting new quotes for him. I was feeling down for a few weeks and I found myself drawn to quotes about gratitude. I was on a roll looking for out of the ordinary gratitude quotes and in my search through the old and new, I found myself feeling better. I still refused to recognize what it was. I also receive How To of the day and Library Link of the day in my email. I got behind on reading them because the blues gets me way out of my routine. The search for gratitude quotes led me to my emails and as I started to catch up on them it happened; what I like to call God's little love pat upside the head. I had missed 2 How To emails on gratitude, a library link article on gratitude and 3 (YES 3!) coupons for gratitude journals, buttons, t-shirts and what not. God will not be denied!!! I grabbed the nearest of my many journals and made my list and have been ever since. Sometimes not happily but inspite of. God understands and is Great!!! Today I would be so grateful if this helped someone. Love, kimmi
